This week's program covered the 7th Annual Mother Language Walk in Canberra which took place on Sunday the 23 Feb 2020 at the National Multicultural Festival in Glebe Park. In celebration of International Mother Language Day (21 Feb), this event is held each year by the International Mother Language Movement Inc. in Canberra. The MC for the walk was Ayesha Sheikh. The walk was initiated to grow awareness in the Canberra community about preserving all the mother languages of the world. The program includes speeches by distinguished guests and key participants of the movement, they were: ACT Minister for Multicultural Affairs Christopher Steel; His Excellency Mohammad Sufiur Rahman High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji; ACT Leader of the Opposition Alistair Coe and BAAC President Dr Shaikh Wahab. The song played at the end of the program was 'Ami Banglay Gaan Gai' by Pratul Mukhopadhyay. This week's program was produced and presented by Raquibul Sheikh, and technical production was by Ayesha Sheikh.
