This week's program commemorated the 120th birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam, Bengali poet, writer, musician, anti-colonial revolutionary and the national poet of Bangladesh. Nazrul wrote and composed nearly 4,000 songs on revolutionary notions as well as more spiritual, philosophical and romantic themes. This week's program presented a selection of his songs composed on Bengali folk theme. The Nazrul songs played in the program were sung by: Feroza Begum, Dr. Anup Ghoshal, Manabendra Mukhopadhay and Indrani Sen. This week's program was produced and presented by Sheikh Lana.
